What's your favourite video game?

Hard to nail it down for me. Not played any new games (apart from GTA5) for a few years so this may be all a bit dated.
Metal Gear Solid 2 on PS2 has to be up there though. Storyline is brilliant, graphics are unreal, it's like watching a film. Only issue I had is it seemed to short and was over too quickly with not much replay value. The whole sneaking around taking out Russians was great though.
Goldeneye on the N64, dunno if any game is every gonna match that first "buzz" of playing. Also Zelda 64 on same consol, was amazing at the time, could even play it now for 18 hours a day and not get bored. Seems like there's always something new to do or see.
GTA5 as mentioned, obviously. And the original Super Mario World. And Super Mario Land 2 on the game boy.

i like resident evil 2, think that was playstation one. some proper creepy levels on that, easily the best horror game
also the lara croft one where one of the levels was in venice like setting, not sure the full name of the game but that was very atmospheric

Heavy rain is up there for me but let down a little by the quicktime events. Same with most of the telltale games.
I really can't pick one overall. It could be any number from the Metal Gear Series. Several Final Fantasy games. Half Life 2/Portal 2. Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout etc.
For the sake of the thread, I'll go with Final Fantasy X. Excellent battle system, beautiful settings and graphics, excellent (if a little over-emotional) storyline and some great characters/enemies. Oh, and a lot of replay value. I put in a considerable amount of time into it as a kid and I was still noway near 100% completion.

Played RE2 on the N64, the music was amazing.
Got RE3 for PS3 and I couldn't get my head round the controls (up always being forward even if you're facing the camera etc.)

mashed, there's a part in RE2 where you to certain part and they introduce this big zombie/frankestein like fucker that chased you round the house/building. it was/is brilliant. it used to smash through walls
